Public Involvement
The Brookland Transportation & Streetscape Study relies heavily on public participation. The public involvement process includes residents, ANCs and other stakeholders in and around the study area, and helps the Study Team document the community's concerns and recommendations. In addition, the public has an opportunity to review and comment upon all Study findings and recommendations, thus playing a crucial role in the decision making process.
To fully engage residents, elected leaders, retail operators, real estate developers and other stakeholders, the Study includes public involvement venues such as meetings, community walk and design charrettes (please see the details under Public Meetings and Schedule). Each event is announced and advertized in advance using meeting notices, pamphlets, and other reasonable mechanisms to communicate project information and obtain community comment. In addition, this Study web site posts the schedule, public meeting minutes, study updates, and other study related documents.
